Following the release of Nu Skin and Oriflame’s 2022 Sustainability Report, on May 5, Nature’s Sunshine released its second annual ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) report, which unveils the progress made and commitments delivered on sustainability in supply chain and manufacturing over the past year.
In the past year, Nature’s Sunshine has converted all of the company’s manufacturing facilities in Utah, USA and Fokker, Spain to solar power, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 35%, as well as using wind power for all of its warehouses and distribution centres in Poland, and reducing air freight by 24% and trucking by 50% in transportation.
“I’m very pleased with the progress we’ve made in a short period of time.” Trent McCausland, Vice President of Natural Sunshine, said, “The next steps will be to continue to practice and apply sustainability in our sourcing, manufacturing and supply chain, and I’m sure we’ll have more good news to share with you in the years to come.”
Nature’s Sunshine has always made guarding nature one of its key strategies for brand development, emphasising streamlining in product development and packaging and adhering to a sustainable path. Starting from 2021, Nature’s Sunshine will switch 80% of its capsule and tablet products to post-consumer recycled PCR bottles, practising corporate social responsibility in every little bit.
From 2018 to 2022, Nature’s Sunshine has sponsored the “Snow Mountain Cleanse Action to Protect the Source of Nature” mountaineering event for five consecutive years, committing itself to protecting nature and calling on people to contribute to the protection of the natural environment of Snow Mountain through the annual “Snow Mountain Cleanse Action to Protect the Source of Nature” themed public welfare activities. The annual Snowy Mountain Cleanse campaign is a way to help protect the natural environment of the snowy mountains.
